Your games are in another app. This page gets you to the right guide for bringing them
over, with your ratings, your progress, your reviews and everything else you wrote down.
It takes a few minutes. You see exactly what will happen before anything is saved, and you
can change any of it.
Which guide do you need?
| You are coming from | Read this |
|---|---|
| Gamery | Moving from Gamery |
| Any other app that can export a CSV | Moving from another app |
| You just need the accepted column names and values | Mapping reference |
What you need
- A CSV file exported from your old app. Nothing else: no account, no archive.
- Game Tracker on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- An internet connection, for the step that looks your games up.
How it works, in three steps
1. Export from your old app. Almost every app can save your library as a CSV file. Put
it somewhere you can reach from your device: Files, iCloud Drive, or an email to yourself.
2. Import into Game Tracker. Go to Settings › Import and choose the file. Game
Tracker reads the column names and tells you which app it thinks wrote them. If your file
came from an app it does not know, you point each of your columns at what it holds. This
takes about a minute and it only happens once.
3. Check and confirm. You get a screen listing every row and what will become of it:
coming in, already in your library, needs a look, left out. Change anything you disagree
with, then confirm. Only now is anything saved.
Good to know before you start
- Nothing is saved until you confirm. You can back out at any point before that.
- A copy of your library is made first, so an import can always be undone by restoring
it. If the copy cannot be made, Game Tracker tells you and asks whether to go on. - Your games arrive complete. Covers, release dates, genres, companies and platforms
come from IGDB, the games catalog, not from your file. - Nothing is dropped in silence. At the end you get a summary you can save. Any rows
that could not be imported come back as a file with the same columns as yours, plus one
saying what went wrong, so you can fix those rows and import that file on its own.
If you get stuck
Email support@gametracker.cloud. Attach the file you tried to import and the summary
the app gave you: those two together show exactly what happened.
