Gamery’s export is the easiest file Game Tracker can be given. You do not have to prepare it, rename anything or match any columns: Game Tracker recognizes a Gamery file on sight and reads every column it writes.
Time needed: about five minutes, most of it waiting.
Step 1. Export your library from Gamery
- Open Gamery.
- Go to Settings › Library.
- Tap Export game library.
- Save the CSV file somewhere you can reach from your device: Save to Files, iCloud
Drive, or mail it to yourself.
You now have one CSV file. Do not open or edit it: hand it over as it is.
Step 2. Start the import in Game Tracker
- Open Game Tracker.
- Go to Settings › Import.
- Tap Choose a file and pick the file you exported.
Game Tracker reads the column names and shows Gamery as the app that wrote the file. That is your confirmation that it was recognized. There is nothing to select and no columns to match.
Step 3. Wait for the lookup
Game Tracker now looks your games up in IGDB, the games catalog. This is the only step that needs an internet connection, and the only one that takes real time: roughly a minute for a few hundred games.
This is where covers, release dates, genres, companies and platform lists come from. Your file does not have to carry any of it.
Step 4. Check what will happen, then confirm
You get a list of every row in your file and what will become of it.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Importing | The game is coming in as a new game. |
| Already in your library | You have it already. Choose whether your file fills in the blanks or replaces what is there. |
| Needs a look | Two or more games go by that name. Tap the row and pick yours. |
| Skipped | The row will not be imported. |
Change anything you disagree with, then tap the import button at the bottom. Nothing is saved until you do.
Step 5. Read the summary
When it finishes you get a summary: how many games were added, how many you already had were updated, and anything that did not work. Save it if you want to keep it.
If some rows could not become a game, they come back as a CSV with your original columns plus one called Import problem saying why. Fix those rows in that file, then import that file on its own.

Two things specific to Gamery
Games you created yourself stay yours. A row where Custom Game (1=yes) is 1 is a game you typed in by hand, usually because no catalog had it. Game Tracker does not look those up, so you will never get back a different game wearing your title. They arrive exactly as your file describes them. They also will not gain a cover later, because they are not linked to any catalog entry.
Progress decides how a game is marked.
| Progress in your file | In Game Tracker |
|---|---|
100 | Played |
1 to 99 | Playing |
0 or empty | No progress recorded |
Every imported game goes into your library whatever its progress. Game Tracker keeps one library rather than a separate wishlist, so nothing ends up hidden away.
If something does not work
Game Tracker did not recognize the file as Gamery. Export it again from Gamery without opening it in between: some spreadsheet apps rewrite the header row when they save. You can also tap the app name on the first screen and choose Gamery yourself.
Some games came in without their platforms. A platform Game Tracker could not match is listed by name in the summary at the end. The game still came in; add the platform on the game’s page.
Nothing came in at all. If the catalog could not be reached, rows are left out rather than brought in as empty games that can never be completed. Try again on a better connection.

Not coming from Gamery?
Any app that exports a CSV can hand its library over. See Moving from another app, and the mapping reference for the column names and values Game Tracker accepts.
